Frank Joseph Sequeira, of
Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on October 3, 2025.
Frank was born on January 4, 1948, in Modesto, California. He was raised in Escalon and graduated from Escalon High School in 1966. Escalon will always be home; he lived there for over 70 years. He joined the Navy in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1973.
Frank worked as a heavy equipment operator with Gomes Ferini and DeSilva Gates. He married Barbara in 1987, and together they began their many travel adventures. After retiring in 2002, they explored the world-by cruise ships, planes, and trains-visiting all seven continents. Papa loved spending time with the grandchildren, especially cheering them on at their sporting events. He was the biggest 49er football fan, attending as many games as possible.
In 2017, Frank and Barbara moved to
Gainesville, Georgia, where they quickly found a community of new friends through pickleball, cooking classes, card games, travel groups, and concerts.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Dawn (Nick) Hodgson of Flowery Branch, Georgia; Wendy (Joey) Costa of Escalon, California, Jennifer (Ben) Alexander of
Gainesville, Georgia, Aaron (Diane) Thurman of Martinez, California; Amanda (Lee) Conner of Turlock, California; as well as his brother, Manuel Sequeira of Manteca, California.
Grandchildren: Nicholas Hodgson, Kalee (Abigail) Hodgson-Hey, Bradley (Zachary) Hodgson, Jordon Costa, Jalyn (Joe) Borba, Johnathon (Rachel) Costa, Michael (Mallory) Husman, Marissa Ortega, Jesika Ortega, Danielle Ortega, Anthony Morado, Bailey Hunn, Kaleigh Thurman, and Austin, Logan, Collin, and Addy Conner. Great grandchildren: Emma, Millie, Alexander, DJ, Callie, Silas, and Frankie-along with many more to come!
Frank was preceded in passing by his father, Manuel Sequeira, his mother, Mary Sequeira, and daughter, Michelle Hunn.
Frank will be remembered as an amazing family man-a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. His enthusiasm, sense of humor, and wit will be missed dearly.
