Frank Thompson, 78, of Lakeside Landings passed away on February 22, 2026, at the Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages.

Frank was born in Verona, Pa to David and Margaret Thompson on February 21, 1948. Frank attended Penn Hills High School in Pittsburgh and graduated from the Community College of Allegheny County with a certificate in computer science.

Frank proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force which included 2 tours of duty in Thailand during the Vietnam Era, as well as tours in Spain, Turkey, Idaho and Alaska. He attained the rank of Master Sargent. Following retirement from the service, Frank worked as a fire fighter, in computer sales and even tried his hand at alpaca farming.

Frank loved the outdoors and spent time prior to his illness bike riding, hiking, shooting and geocaching. He loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed studying the Bible. Frank's guilty pleasures included following politics and conspiracy theories.

He married Barbara Thompson on Jan 20, 1996. He is survived by his children, Erin Thompson of Webster, FL; Gregory Thompson of Phoenix, AZ; and Beverly Frye of Seattle, WA; a granddaughter Samantha; as well as his sister Bonnie Rodgers of Murrysville, PA

.

Visitation and a Christian service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday March 10, 2026 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home in the Villages with Pastor Tom Taylor of Live Oaks Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery at Bushnell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's name to Tunnels to Towers.
