Frank Vitrano Obituary

Frank Anthony Vitrano
12/15/1932 - 01/05/2026
Frank Anthony Vitrano, 93 of Midland, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026.
A rosary will begin at 5:00 pm on Sunday January 11, 2026 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Please wear maroon or your Aggie gear to honor Frank. Services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Frank was born on December 15, 1932 in Waco, Texas to Anthony and Josephine Vitrano.
He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1954 with a Petroleum Engineering degree. Following graduation, he served as an officer in the United States Army in France for two years. After returning from France, he went to work for Cities Services in Pampa, Texas. While in Pampa he met the love of his life, Jane Meeks of Longview, Texas on a blind date and they married on July 23, 1960. In Pampa they had their daughter Linda Ann. In 1964 they were transferred to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In Bartlesville, their son Tony was born.
In 1971 they were transferred to Midland, Texas where they made many lifelong friends. Frank was an active member of Midland Downtown Rotary for over 40 years. He was also an active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. In 1987 they bought a house on Lake LBJ where many great memories have been made with their friends and family.
After retiring from Occidental Petroleum with over 30 years of service Frank and Jane enjoyed traveling extensively including several trips abroad and two African safaris. For many years Frank and Jane attended all the home games for the Fightin' Texas Aggies.
Frank was a kind, witty, friendly, and outgoing man that never met a stranger and had the best sense of humor. His family and friends meant the world to him. He and Jane celebrated 65 years of marriage this past July. Their marriage was a beautiful example for their children and grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his wife Jane, daughter Linda Nichols (Ray), son Tony Vitrano (Helen); granddaughters Jessica, Sarah, Samantha, Teagan, Kourtney Baker (Colin), and Haley Wright (Steven); great grandchildren Jayden, Iyla, Madden, Dawson, Bradley, Gwyneth, Jude and Alani; niece Sherri Edrington (John) and nephew David Yost (Mary); great niece Ashley Ashbaugh (Matt) and great nephew Austin Edrington (Mallory); along with many extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Manor Park, High Sky Children's Ranch or Helping Hands.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
