Frank Joseph Vlach, age 91, of Oakbrook Terrace. Beloved husband of Verna Vlach; Devoted father of Sharon (Rick) Smith; caring step-father of Denise (Ed) Olalde and Joseph (Tanya) Carco; dear son of the late Otelia and the late Frank Vlach; loving grandfather and great-grandfather to many; fond brother of Dorothy (John) Pfeuffer, the late Rose Jarosky, the late Ann (George) Muller, and the late Joseph (Laura) Vlach.
Frank served on the City's Planning and Zoning Commission for 3 years. He also followed the activities of Oakbrook Terrace's city government by attending City Council meetings for the past 10 years.
He became an alderman to help people and hopefully to make Oakbrook Terrace a better place in which to live.
Frank was also employed at the Oakbrook Terrace Park District for 11 years, served as the secretary/treasurer of the Oakbrook Terrace Senior Club, and volunteered at Ascension Church for the homeless in DuPage County.
Visitation Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S Meyers Rd, Lombard, IL, 60148. Funeral Wednesday, April 2, 2025 beginning from the funeral home with prayers at 9:15 AM, to Acsencion of Our Lord Catholic Church, 1S314 Summit Ave, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Mass 10:00 AM. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. Funeral info: knollcrest.net or (630) 932-1500.
