Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Goshen Care Center.
Frank was born on December 19, 1932, east of Sturgis, SD, the ninth child of Marguerite and Jacob
Weyrich. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school 20 miles east of Sturgis through
the 8th grade. He later attended high school in Sturgis and Vale, SD. On June 16, 1954, Frank married
his sweetheart, Karen Callanan. Together, they shared nearly 71 years of marriage and raised four
children: Jim (Fran), Frankie (Maureen), Terri (Jim House), and Rod (Lori).
After leaving the farm, Frank worked as a mechanic for several years before joining Lamb Construction
in
Torrington, WY, in 1958 as a diesel mechanic/welder and fabricator. He worked for Lamb
Construction for nearly 40 years, with his family moving to 19 different towns throughout Wyoming due
to various road jobs. In 1970, they settled in Hawk Springs, where Frank worked as a mechanic in the
Hawk Springs school gymnasium. After a few years, he also worked for Scott & Son. Frank retired at
the age of 64 but continued running his personal business, "Weyrich Repair," in Yoder until his late 80s.
Frank was an active member of the Hawk Springs Fire Department for 37 years, and he also served on
the Fire District Board for many years. He was a dedicated member of Saint Rose Catholic Church and
volunteered for various community projects, including repairs and lawn maintenance for the Hawk
Springs Community Building.
He cherished spending time with his children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren,
attending their activities near and far. One of his favorite pastimes was taking road trips to Deadwood.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Karen; their four children; grandchildren Jake and Kyle Weyrich,
Elizabeth Bouchard (Ben), Gavin, Nathan, and Daniel Weyrich, Sheila Laleman (Kevin), Melissa House,
Emily Haefele (Randall), Jenna Krul (Ryan), and Shelby Clason (Chance); great-grandchildren Raelee
Krul, Alex Laleman, Calvin Krul, Joelle Haefele, Owen Laleman, Griffin Haefele, Murphy Clason,
Harrison Clason, and Paul Bouchard; and one sibling, Gladys Cox Brown.

Clara Knutson, Leo Weyrich, Paul Weyrich, Dorothy Dunn, Mary Rosser, and two infant sisters, as well
as one granddaughter, Karla House.
The family kindly requests that memorial contributions in Frank's memory be directed to Saint Rose
Catholic Church or the Hawk Springs Fire Department.
