FRANK WHARTON Obituary

FRANK WHARTON
JULY 6, 1952 - JULY 12, 2024
Santa Fe - Frank Lamont Wharton, 72, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away on July 12, 2024.
Frank was born on July 6, 1952, in Kansas City, KS, the eldest of two children, to Bud and Pat Wharton. Frank graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1970 and went on to attend the University of Kansas, where he earned a business degree in 1974 and was a proud member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. After completing his college education, Frank established a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant.
A passionate supporter of Kansas Jayhawks athletics, Frank rarely missed watching a basketball game and was an enthusiastic follower of Jayhawk sports. He also loved going to the movies and spent countless hours enjoying them in the theater.
Frank spent the last 45 years of his life in Santa Fe, where he enjoyed his daily walks to the office, despite frequently talking about "retiring." He also loved visiting his condo in Siesta Key, FL, where he would walk along the beach, admire the coastline, and, of course, people-watch.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy, his mother, Pat, and his father, Bud. Frank is survived by his niece, Ann Mitchell (Jesse) of San Antonio, TX, and Stephen Stratton of Albuquerque, NM, along with extended family and friends.
A private memorial service to celebrate Frank's life will be held at a later date.

Frank and I always had fun together. Date nights in Santa Fe. Watching old movies together. Walking on the beach in Siesta Key.
I met Stephen and Ann a few times on the holidays. Seemed like nice folks. I remember Franks parents Pat and Bud. Really nice people.
