Frank Allen Wheeler

Frank Allen Wheeler, born August 30, 1948, in Athens, Georgia, and entered into the arms of Jesus on February 26, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was deeply loved by his family and known for his strong faith in God.

Allen worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Oconee County School System, where he was respected for his hard work and many skills. A talented carpenter, jack of all trades and a master of many.

Allen became a born-again Christian on June 30, 1985, and faithfully lived out his beliefs each day. His faith guided his life, and he found purpose in helping others, often putting their needs before his own. Material things meant little to him compared to caring for family, friends, and those in need.

He is survived by his wife; Sandra Bond Wheeler; children: Benji Wheeler, Salinda (Dale) Rogers, Christy (Ryan) West, Ange Wheeler, Michele (Nathan) Jones, Sharla Bryant, and Ashley Bryant; grandchildren: Thomas (Brittany), Lindsay, Marley, Luke, Charlie, James, Sara Rose, Carter Cash, Harrison, Kinsi, Parker, Holden, Dylan, Amber, and Ivy; great-granddaughters: Harper and Martha Grace; sister: Brenda (Kevin) Walraven; brothers-in-law: Reece Cooper and Jerry Bond; his loyal four-legged companion: Shadow and many extended family members and friends.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Webb Wheeler and Allene Hill Wheeler and siblings, Betty Cooper, Barbara Dickson and Billy Wheeler

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Rays Church, 1521 Rays Church Road, Bishop, Georgia, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, or you may honor Allen’s memory by helping someone in need, just as he often did.

Allen will be remembered for his loving heart, generous spirit, and steadfast faith. His legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in all who knew and loved him.
