Frank A. (Skip) Witte, 89, of North Sewickley Township,
Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania passed on February 26, 2026, in
Lakeland, Florida. Frank was born on March 10, 1936, in
New Castle, Pennsylvania.
He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, in 1955 and attended Penn State University in Beaver, Pennsylvania. Frank proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 until 1958, including service in Korea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank A. and Mary Jane (Johnston) Witte; his first wife, Margaret (Peg DiFrischia) Witte; his sister, Connie (James) Burton; and his grandson, Brian Witte.
Frank is survived by his wife since 2006, Freda L. Lodge/Brenner/Witte; his brother and sister-in-law, James (Lea) Witte; his brother-in-law, James Burton; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his children, Jason (Anita) Witte, John (Barbara) Witte, and Alex Witte; grandchildren Bradley (Heather) Witte, Brett (Kenzi) Witte, and Madelyn (Matthew) Brown; great-grandsons Easton, Knox, Kohen, and Boone Witte, and great-grand-daughter Rosemary Brown.
He is also survived by his wife's children, John (Susan) Brenner, Paul (Kristin) Brenner, and Lynda (Jim) Mistick; grandchildren Steven (Kim) Brenner, Michael (fiancé Hannah Stark) Brenner, Matthew (Madeline) Cary, and Taylor (Joseph) Karnash; great-grandchildren Eliza and Miles Cary, Bailey and Delilah Brenner, and Samuel Karnash.
Frank was an installation engineer and manager of field services for Matthews Conveyor in Ellwood City. He later relocated with the company to Danville, Kentucky and retired in 2003.
He was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the VFW, where he served as an officer several times. Frank was also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Retreads and the National Association of 40+ Riders motorcycle clubs. He and Freda enjoyed many motorcycle trips together. He was a licensed private pilot and a member of Silver Sneakers at the YMCA. During many winters spent in Lakeland, Frank participated in the Polk County Senior Games and won several medals. His hobbies included photography, working Sudoku puzzles, and woodworking.
Frank was a good friend to everyone, was very generous, and will be deeply missed.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in
Lakeland, Florida. Frank wished to be cremated with no visitation or services.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in
Lakeland, Florida for the excellent care and compassion they provided to Frank.
