Franklin "Frank" Barnum, a cherished husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and honorable U.S. Army Veteran, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on September 30, 1943, in Tallahassee, FL, Frank lived a life marked by love, service, and unwavering dedication to his family, country, and community. After graduating from high school, Frank answered the call to serve his nation, enlisting in the United States Army. Over the course of 27 years, including several tours in the Vietnam War, he demonstrated exceptional courage, integrity, and leadership. His steadfast commitment and sacrifice left a lasting impression on those who served alongside him and earned him the deep respect of his comrades. Following his military career, Frank continued to exemplify the spirit of service in a civilian role at Camp Mabry, where his hard work, wisdom, and integrity inspired all who had the privilege to work with him. Frank's life was a testament to the values he cherished most: family, friendship, and kindness. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-watching Westerns, cheering on his favorite football teams, playing bingo, and spending precious time with loved ones. A man of great heart and generosity, Frank was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, embodying the essence of compassion and selflessness. Frank leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Sandra Barnum; his children, Frank Jr., Henry, Coretta, Glynnis, Marcus, and Franetta; and his grandchildren, Sydney, David, and Kaylie, who will forever hold him close in their hearts. He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives he touched so deeply. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lillie, as well as his brothers, Albert and Richard. A Celebration of Life Service to honor Frank's remarkable journey will be held at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church – The North Star (12300 Amherst Drive, Austin, TX 78727) on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM CST. His legacy of service will be further commemorated with a burial featuring full military honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX (11463 Fort Hood Street, Killeen, Texas 76542) on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM CST. Frank's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to The Monarch at Cedar Park, Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home, and Scenic Mountain Medical Center for the compassion and care they provided during his final days.

We are so saddened to hear of Frank´s passing; he was so friendly and a great neighbor always willing to help anyone out. If we were outside, he always honked and waived, occasionally stopping by if he wasn´t running to help someone else. He was a proud veteran also never afraid to tell you how angry he was with how they were being treated. Our deepest condolences and prayers to Sandra and the entire Barnum family, he was a proud husband, father, grandfather and friend. Rest in Peace!

Frank was a dear sweet man.
Always told everyone I was his
"Pink skinned cousin".
He always made all of his co workers day.
Laughing and joking.
I can still see his smiling face.
Most of all Frank was a believer in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Till we meet again!
I love you.
