Franklin A. Connel, age 82, of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
Franklin was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on August 5, 1941 to the late Frank & Jessie Lee Connel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Frankie Connel.
He is survived by his son, Charlie Connel; 3 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends-including those who served alongside him in Vietnam.
Franklin proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #9936 and the AMVETS. Franklin will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 5, 2023 from 10:30-11:30 am at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The memorial service will follow at 11:30am. We will then process to the Dayton National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with military honors.
