Franklin Hamilton, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2026. He proudly served his country in both the United States Navy, from which he was honorably discharged on November 20, 1954, and later the United States Air Force, serving until 1960. He was a member of local American Legion. Franklin worked for many years at Olin Chemical Plant in McIntosh, Alabama, before retiring from Ingalls Shipbuilding after decades of dedicated service. An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in nature and fishing. He was a faithful member of Agricola Baptist Church and will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a cherished friend to many in the community.

He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Dossie and Johnnie Middleton; siblings, Leila Mae Baugh, Wilfred F. Hamilton, and Nolan Hamilton; nephew, Clyde Baugh, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 68 years, Janis Marie Pugh Hamilton; children, Frank Vincent (Nancy) Hamilton, James Ivan (Melisa) Hamilton and Diana Robin Hamilton; grandchildren, Cody (Sarah) Hamilton, Ryan (Megan) Hamilton, Jessica (Tylor) Parker, JD Hamilton, Emma (Shane) Stringfellow, and Justin Lynch; 10 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

The Visitation will be Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Agricola Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Tony Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Agricola Cemetery. Pallbearers include Justin Lynch, JD Hamilton, Cody Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton, Shane Stringfellow, and Tylor Parker.

The family would like to extend a since Thank You to the entire staff of Deaconess Hospice for their care and compassion. A special Thank You to their nurse, Brittany Brooks, for her personal attention to the family.
