Franklin Masingo Obituary

Franklin “Frank” Masingo, 86, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. Born in Middlesboro, Ky. on Oct. 3, 1935, he was the son of the late Ella Goldsmith Masingo Fouse and William Preston Masingo. Mr. Masingo was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He later worked as a millwright and ironworker supervisor and retired from Fluor Daniels and Becon Construction. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Jackson Masonic Lodge #576, GARS, and the American Legion. Mr. Masingo was an avid bowler and golfer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Masingo, whom he married on June 12, 1952; sisters, Hazel Stewart and Artie Brown; brothers, Lloyd, Floyd, J.D., Kermit, and Bruce Masingo; great-grandson, Bode Luke McKenzie. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Steve Masingo (Lynn) of Salisbury, Michael Masingo (Luellen) of Mt. Ulla, and Todd Masingo (Beth) of Winston-Salem; sister, Pat Masingo Hutchinson (Norman) of Charleston, Ind.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14 at Friendship Baptist Church, 100 Porter Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146. Service will follow at 12 p.m. with the Pastor Jason Pierce officiating. Entombment will follow at the Rowan Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel,4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Military honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Joint Services Honor Guard. Lyerly Funeral Home is serving the Masingo family. Online condolences may be made at www.lyerlyfuneralhome.com.

I am so sad to hear of UncleFrank passing. I guess you know how special he and Aunt Nancy were to me. So many great memories of them and Family. My heart is with all of you and prayers as you are learning how to go on while missing him. Love all of you.
