Franklin Thomas Proctor age 63 of Maryville passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 at his home surrounded by family after battling cancer since August of 2006.. He was born January 11, 1947 in Brownwood, Texas. He was preceded in death my his loving mother, Inez Frazier Proctor, his brother Johnny Royce Proctor, his brother in law Danny Ray Mc Lean, and his in laws Fred and Clara Clemmons. Frank is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Anna Clemmons Proctor ; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Brian & Tricia Proctor of Maryville and Brad & Amanda Proctor of Friendsville, Brother, Charlie Ray Proctor of Maryville. Grandchildren, Sean Anthony-Thomas Proctor, Caleb Almond-Marcus Proctor of Maryville and, Loren Elizabeth Proctor of Seymour TN.. Frank is also survived by sister in laws, Ruby McLean of Lawrenceville GA, Mira Hayes of Waskom TX: brother in laws Bruce Hayes of Waskom TX, and Ralph Clemmons of Topeka KS, several nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. Frank worked 31 years for Aluminum Company of America. He worked at the Marshall Works Plant in Marshall TX from 1970 to 1983, then transferred to Tennessee where he worked at the ALCOA plant in Alcoa, TN from 1983 to 1992 at which time he transferred to Point Comfort TX where he worked till retirement at ALCOA Point Comfort Operations in 2001. After retiring he moved back to Maryville Tennessee where he was employed by Rural Metro as a Security Guard/First Responder at ALCOA Frank was a member of Mountain View Lodge #519 F&AM, where he was serving as Worshipful Master. Also a member of Rockford Lodge #469 F&AM and R.A. Tompkins Lodge #1254 AF&AM in Waskom TX. He was a faithful member of the Nelson Chapel Church of Christ. Frank was loved by everyone that knew him. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke. He loved his family and was so proud of his sons and grandchildren. Frank fought a long and hard battle with cancer. It took his body but never his spirit. He will always be remembered by those who loved him. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m Thursday November 18 at Smith Mortuary Chapel with funeral to follow with Steve Riley officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2010 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Alcoa for the interment. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the following: Rockford Masonic Lodge #469 in Rockford, TN or Hope Lodge, 2008 Charlotte AVE, Nashville, TN. Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000.

Franklin was my nephew and he had the kindest heart of anyone I know. I miss our talks very much. Franklin you are loved. Thank you for your service in Vietnam.
