Franklin Schaufele Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Morganville on Apr. 30, 2025.
Franklin Roger Schaufele, known fondly to friends and family as Frank, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Plainfield, NJ, on October 26, 1949, Frank was an athlete throughout his youth. Frank played Little League with the Cliffwood Angels where he was dubbed "Cannonball Schaufele". He also enjoyed playing Pop Warner Football; he then went on to play football & baseball at Matawan Regional High School. After high school Frank moved to Miami Dade where he was scouted by the Detroit Tigers, unfortunately, he obtained a career ending injury. As an adult, he played with the Jersey Shore Baseball League (JSBL) for many years. Frank also coached the JSBL for almost as many years as he was a player. He also loved to play golf; but his true love was baseball, especially the Yankees.
Frank's passion for technology started when he worked at Merck, he then moved on to Panasonic, and finally ended his IT career at Englehard. Post-retirement, he found joy in transporting and connecting with the youth as a bus driver for the Freehold regional school system, particularly for Freehold High School.
Frank is survived by his loving long-term partner, Sharyn Pinter; his caring sister, Bonnie Brown; his step children, Jason & wife Krista, Taryn Pinter & husband Ty Kleffman, and Laura Nagy & husband Rich Nagy; his nephews, Ronnie Antonucci & wife Mary Kay, Steven Antonucci & wife Tracy, Thomas Antonucci & wife Kelly; and niece, Jamie Cox & husband Ronald; Frank was grateful to have been bestowed 16 great nephews and nieces, 4 great grandsons & one great granddaughter.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Franklin & Jeanette Schaufele.
Frank's remarkable spirit, infused with kindness and reliability, will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family, colleagues, and the multitude of students he safely guided on their educational journeys.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Frank's name to Leukemia And Lymphoma Society at www.llc.org.

I went to Matawan High School with Frank and Sharyn, we were in the same grade. I remember them dating. Then later in life they married others but then, lo and behold, they were single again and resumed their relationship. Their coming together again gladdened my heart. I moved away in my senior year, but remembered them in a sweet way all this time. Sincere condolences on his death. Deb Bopp Butters

So sorry to hear about Frank. He was best man at my wedding back in 1972. We had some good times together after returning from Vietnam in 1969. Rest in peace Frank.
