William C. Schaufele, Sr. passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023, at the age of 92. He was born on January 10, 1931, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Laurence and Mary Schaufele. After graduating from McKinley High School, he joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Caloosahatchee during the Korean Conflict. Bill lived in North Canton and was a member of St. Paul North Canton parish for the last 55 years. Bill was a devoted husband, loving father, and skilled carpenter. He dedicated his life to his craft, leaving a lasting impact on the community he proudly served. As a member of the Local 69 Carpenters Union, Bill's meticulous workmanship and attention to detail were highly regarded by his peers and clients alike. Bill's dedication to his craft was only surpassed by his love and devotion to his family. He will be forever remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and a ready willingness to lend a hand, especially to his beloved neighbors. His gentle spirit touched the lives of those around him, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his sisters and their husbands Dode (Fred) Luther, Laurel (Kenny) Pfeiffer, Sally Ramsey, and Jeanne; his sister-in-law Dort Hawk; his brothers-in-law and their wives Harry (Dot) Kasper, Mike (Irene) Kasper, and George (Ramona) Kasper; and his dear friend Lucy Scanlon. He is survived by his son William, Jr. (Heather Kohar); daughter Kimberly Schaufele Eye (Eric) and granddaughter Lillian; and son Michael (Sarah), grandson Nathan, and granddaughter Ainsley; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel 801 Pittsburg Ave NW North Canton 44720. A Catholic mass will be held 11:00am Friday October 27th at St. Paul Catholic Church
241 S. Main Street North Canton, OH 44720. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St Paul Catholic Church North Canton or Habitat for Humanity. Please join us at a luncheon to immediately follow the service at the Bistro in Oakwood Square 2664 Easton St NE, Canton, OH 44721.
