Franklin Wright Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 30, 2026.
Franklin Theodore Wright, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and hardworking member of his community, Franklin leaves behind a legacy of dedication, strength, and kindness.

He shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Diana Wright, who stood by his side through life's many chapters. He was a proud father to his children: Melinda Epling (Carlin Epling) of Salisbury, NC, Brad Wright (Kristen Wright) of Salisbury, MD, Jonathan Wright of Baltimore, MD, Alana Wright of Linwood, NC, and Noah Wright of Linwood, NC, all of whom carry forward his values and spirit.

Franklin was a cherished grandfather to Carly Epling, Maddy Epling, Ella Epling, Evan Wright, and Nolan Wright, who brought him immense joy.

He is also survived by his brothers, John Wright (Mina Wright) of Seaford, DE and Wayne Wright of Elyria, OH. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Wright and John "Tex" Wright.

Franklin dedicated many years of his career to public service, retiring from Brockbridge Correctional Institute in Jessup, MD. Even after retirement, his strong work ethic led him to continue serving his community through his work with Granite Quarry, NC Public Works.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling (especially cruising), and spending time with his family-moments that brought him great joy and lasting memories. He was also a devoted Baltimore Ravens fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team.

He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his resilience, and the quiet strength he showed in everything he did. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to his favorite place of work:
