Phillip Wright Obituary

Phillip H. Wright Sr., 80, of Ridgway, died on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Penn Highlands Dubois following a brief illness.
He was born on January 25, 1946, in New Kensington, PA, a son of the late Edgar L. Sr, and Mozelle Eves Wright.
On March 11, 1971, he married Patricia Graf, who survives, with whom he shared a loving marriage for over 55 years.
Phil dedicated 30 years of his career to Motion Control, where his contributions were integral to the company's success and reputation. Following his tenure there, he spent many enjoyable years working at NAPA. Phil was not just a lover of cars; he was an artist in his own right, tirelessly devoted to working on his prized Chevelle, where he found joy and fulfillment.
Phil cherished the simple pleasures of life, particularly breakfast with his brother, where laughter and camaraderie filled the air. Known for his love of sweets, he was always eager to share his favorites, bringing joy to those around him with a tasty treat or a thoughtful gesture. If you were lucky enough to know Phil, you were undoubtedly touched by his generous spirit and genuine care for others. He had a passion for hosting family gatherings, where his generous heart and love for card games created unforgettable moments filled with joy and connection.
A man whose heart was as big as his love for sports, Phil dedicated much of his time to coaching softball and supporting local high school teams. However, his greatest joy came from witnessing the talents and triumphs of his grandchildren on the playing field. Phil made it his mission to attend as many of their games as possible, showering them with pride and support.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 children: Jennifer Wright of MD, Philip Wright Jr. of Ridgway, and Amanda Szymanski and her husband Adam of Julian, PA, and 4 grandchildren; Julia, Ella, Michael, and Elizabeth. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Edgar L. Wright Jr. of Kane and Harold Wright of Portage, PA, a sister, Myra Brown of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wright, a sister, Christine Dykes, and 2 sisters in law, Gloria and Pauline Wright.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Krise Funeral Home, from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM.
