Frantz "Russ" (Rusty) Lupton, 1948–2026

Frantz "Russ" (Rusty) Lupton, a respected Arizona real estate developer, devoted father, grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born in 1948, Russ built a remarkable life defined by hard work, vision, and an unwavering ability to connect with people. Over the course of his career, he became a successful real estate developer whose work helped shape parts of Arizona's landscape. He played a notable role in the development of the Scottsdale Airpark and was involved in many land transactions and developments throughout Scottsdale and Flagstaff. His strong business instincts, combined with his ability to build lasting relationships, earned him the respect of colleagues, partners, and friends throughout the community.

While Russ was proud of his professional accomplishments, his greatest joy was always his family. He cherished time with his two sons, Tyler (Vandy) and Matthew (Susan), and he took special pride in being a grandfather to Case.

Outside of work, Russ embraced the outdoors and the lifestyle of the Arizona mountains. He loved fishing, caring for his dogs, and escaping the desert heat for cool summers in the mountains around Vallecito Lake, Colorado and Pinetop, Arizona. Wherever he went, Russ had a gift for making friends and building connections that often lasted a lifetime.

Those who knew Russ will remember his entrepreneurial spirit, his loyalty to those he loved, his warmth and humor he brought to every relationship. His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he built, and the communities he helped shape.

He is survived by his sons, Tyler (Vandy) and Matthew (Susan), and his beloved grandson, Case.

Russ will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
