Fred Gualberto Agustin

Fred Gualberto Agustin, age 83, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away surrounded by family.

Born on July 1, 1942, in San Clemente,Tarlac, Philippines, Fred was the beloved son of the late Leon and Marta Agustin. He married his devoted wife, Ediltrudes Corpuz Agustin, on May 18, 1969. The following year, Fred and Ediltrudes emigrated to the United States, where they built their life together in Chicago and raised their two children, Editha Krueger MD (David) and Frederick Agustin JD (Maura). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Dylan and Justin Krueger, and Emmett and Colette Agustin, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Fred was a man of great intellect, strength, and resiliency. He earned his Master's degree in Accountancy and became a Certified Public Accountant, building a thriving accounting practice that served the Chicago community for over 42 years. Alongside his professional career, Fred taught accounting and finance at several Chicago colleges and universities. His dedication to teaching was recognized when he was honored as Teacher of the Year at National Louis University.

Fred was the cherished brother of Nicolasa, Patring, Jacinta, Dionesia, Aurelia, Purita, Sanang, and Salud and is survived by his loving sisters Patring and Purita.

He will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, deep love for his family, and generosity. Fred's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Nephron Dialysis Center, Dr. Roseman, Dr. Surucci, Laarni Laxamana, and Ruel Ocampo for their exceptional care and kindness.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave, Chicago, IL. Chapel Prayers, Friday, October 10, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. from Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home and processing to Our Lady of Mercy Church, 4432 N.
