Fred Nelson Bailey Sr., 76, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2025.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2:00-4:00PM for a celebration of life.
Fred was born on September 6, 1949, the youngest of nine children. A good, hardworking man, he was truly a jack of all trades—dependable, reliable, and always willing to lend a hand. Fred never met a stranger and was known for his easygoing nature and good sense of humor, which made people feel comfortable right away. He had a lifelong love for cars, trucks, and anything with a motor, and was rarely seen without one of his favorite golf hats—even though he never played golf. Fred will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and the many lives he touched along the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Geraldine Bailey; siblings, Robert “Doc” Bailey, Ruby Barber, Carlton Bailey, Thomas Bailey, Wayne Bailey, Gaynel Corum.
He is survived by his children, Fred Bailey, Jr. (Missy) and Dustin Bailey; grandchildren, Aubrey, Macey, Ellie, and Ethan; sisters, Millie Moorefield and Patricia White (Carson).
