Fred Joseph Bartuch Jr., passed away peacefully on Sunday October 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Laux, for 70 years. Devoted father of Marianne Lococo (Dave Harris), Sharon (Bob) Mcilhattan, Laura Nagel, Sue (Dominic) DeSanto and the late Cathy Morrell. Cherished by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Larry (Sue) LaVoy, Lynn (Tom) Anderson, Emily (late Bob) Humphrey, Louise (Chris) Schneider and the late Don (late Ellie) Bartuch. Much loved Brother-in-Law and dear uncle of many nieces and nephews and a loyal friend. Fred was a retired typesetter for several Chicago newspapers over 40 years. Fred was an inspiration to all, every Monday he played pinochle at Worth Park District and every Tuesday he golfed at Fountain Hill Golf Course in Alsip. He also was a member of St. Rene Senior Club, and a Eucharist Minister at Church. He was a proud member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of American Club. Fred also belonged to The Pilgrims Dance Club and bowled with his Bag and Balls Team for 52 years for the Clearing Brewer Bowling League.
Visitation is Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave.(55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 8:30 am until time of Prayers at 9:30 am. We will go in procession from the funeral home to Two Holy Martyrs Parish, St. Rene Goupil Church for a 10:00 am Mass. Fred will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in honor of Fred to Two Holy Martyrs Parish and St. Rene's Campus. He leaves behind a wealth of treasured memories and happy times. He was a model of living life to the fullest.
