John Frederick "Fred" Bisby, age 89 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. He was born April 19, 1935 to William Leslie and Mildred May Ecton Bisby in Prathersville, Missouri.
Fred was raised in Independence, Missouri and graduated from William Chrisman High School, laying the foundation for an enriching life ahead. Following his education, Fred employed his strong work ethic at Sheffield Steel, which later became Armco Steel in Kansas City, Missouri, remaining a steadfast employee until his retirement in 1986. Embracing a higher calling, he later served as a minister, joyfully spreading wisdom and comfort across various congregations in Oklahoma and Missouri alongside his beloved wife, Louise.
Fred's passions reached beyond his vocation–he was an avid outdoorsman who cherished trapping, hunting and fishing. He loved nature and proudly harvested and sold local honey under the name of Bizzy Bee Honey. He was a member of the Missouri and Kansas Bee Keeper's Association, sharing his knowledge and zeal with fellow enthusiasts. Fred's enduring legacy is one of love, service, and the simple joys of life. He will be profoundly missed and warmly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Fred is survived by three children, Kevin Bisby and Deborah Gray both of Independence, Missouri and Brenda Binger and husband Daniel of Butler, Missouri; a stepson, Howard Crepeau and wife Karla of Butler, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Louise Bisby on August 18, 2023.
