Ron was born on July 18, 1959, in Butler, MO, to Lee and Elaine Ellis. Growing up in Harrisonville, MO, Ron was a proud graduate of Harrisonville High School, Class of 1977. Ron spent 21 years in various roles of sales and marketing in the electronics manufacturing industry, with the first two years in Kansas City and St Louis, MO, and then in Chicago, IL. For his final few years with the company, he managed an engineering team for product development.

In his new chapter after early retirement, Ron and his family moved to Centennial, Colorado, where he pursued his passion for hospitality. As an entrepreneur, he owned and managed a hotel and later helped to manage a restaurant. His commitment to his community was evident through his service on the Grand County Colorado Tourism Board, where he contributed to promoting the beauty and vitality of the region he loved for many years.

Ron married Angela Brown in 1981, and during their 29 years of marriage they had two children. Angela became part of Ron's support team as he dealt with ALS, and was his caregiver in her home for his last three months.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Elaine Ellis, and his older brother, David Ellis. He is survived by his children: Dana Ellis of Denver, CO, and Rachel Ellis (Nick Webster) of Centennial, CO; his brothers: Michael (Brenda) Ellis, of Springfield, MO; and Stanley (Kelley) Ellis, of Weston, MO; and two nieces.
