Fred Crawford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC on Aug. 29, 2024.
Fred T. "Tom" Crawford, of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on November 16, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Fred and Blanche Crawford.
Tom's journey was one of service and adventure. After completing his education in Memphis, he joined the Air Force, where his passion for aviation truly took flight. His dedication to his country was mirrored in his post-service career as a pilot instructor, where he not only taught the mechanics of flight but also inspired a sense of freedom and possibility in his students. His expertise also found expression in the fields, where he worked as a crop duster, skillfully navigating the vast skies to nourish the earth below.
Tom's spirit of camaraderie and his easy-going nature made him a beloved figure in the aviation community. His stories, often punctuated with a joke and a hearty laugh, will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A true maverick, Tom's love for his Harley Davidson motorcycle was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his free-spirited nature. The open road was a canvas for his joy, each ride a brushstroke of his vibrant character. He was the epitome of a chill dude, whose presence could light up a room and whose friendship was a gift.
Tom's legacy is carried on by his loving family: his late wife, Debra "Debbie" Crawford; his daughters, Dana Crawford Drum (Mark), Christine Crawford Skelly (Michael) Leslea Crawford Shendock. Debra Lee Crawford; his brothers, James Crawford, Frank Crawford and his wife, Jane; Grandchildren, Cody Molowski, Ryan Drum (Abby), Jessica Molowski, Tyler Drum, Megan Drum, Maranda Shendock and Chesney Langley. Great Granddaughter Lainey May Drum and his adoring nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Katie, Chris, David, and John Crawford.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Friday, September 6th from 10 am to 11 am at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment with military honors will be held in NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown
