Fred Dulock Obituary

Fred B. Dulock

Dec 21, 1938 - Jul 30, 2025

Fred Dulock passed away on July 30, 2025 at Woodway Rehabilitation & Nursing facility after an illness of several months.

Fred, the youngest of seven children, was born to Fred Walter and Frances (Dolezal) Dulock on December 21, 1938 in Elk, Texas. He graduated from Axtell High School in 1956 as valedictorian with his twin sister, Helen, as salutatorian. He played football, basketball, softball, and track, entering Texas A&M University on a track scholarship. Fred was a member of the Corps of Cadets and graduated in 1960 with a degree in accounting. He lettered all four years in track and cross country. Fred was a member of the Letterman's Association and the Accounting Society. Upon graduation in 1960, he entered the U.S Army and served in Okinawa. Following active duty, he served in the Army Reserves and attained the rank of Captain.

Fred married Genny (Slovak) Dulock on June 5, 1965 and they celebrated 60 years of marriage this year.

He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Parish Council, and the Finance Committee. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council and was a Fourth-Degree knight.

Fred was a certified public accountant with his own practice in Waco for over 45 years. Many of his clients were also some of his closest friends. He loved his work and continued working until earlier this year.

He spent many years coaching teams with Lake Air Little League while his own children played and beyond. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Reicher Catholic High School, serving on the school board while also being their biggest fan. For many years, he was a familiar figure on the field as a chain gang member with his friend, Tito Martinez.

All who knew him were aware of his love for all things Texas A&M. He had season tickets for all A&M home football games since the 1980's until present as well as being a member of the 12th Man Foundation, the Association of Former Students, and the Waco-McLennan County A&M Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Walter (Lillian) Dulock and James Dulock; sisters, Frances (Carl) Stamm, Dorothy (Al) Tipshus, Irene Vickery, and Helen Dulock; and infant daughter, Mary Michelle.

Survivors include his wife, Genny; sons, Bryan and Scott (Sherra); daughter, Tracy Dulock; grandchildren, Trevor and Alyssa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Tom Lindsey, Alan Hoffman, Justin Schramm, Trevor Dulock, Val Nunez, and Tom Stamm.

The visitation and rosary will be from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, August 5th at OakCrest Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, August 6th at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waco with Rev. Joe Geleney, Jr. officiating. Following the Mass, Fred will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery.
