Fred Jacobi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 10, 2011.
Clinton – Fred W. Jacobi, 82, passed away October 10, 2011 of natural causes at St. Patrick Hospital. Fred was born in Long Island, NY on November 6, 1928 to Fred and Katherine (Weiser) Jacobi. Fred and Barbara "Barb"(Bruhwer) were married and best friends for over 60 years. Fred loved his daughters, grandchildren and great – grandchildren. He passed on to them his love of hunting, shooting and fishing (including how to exaggerate the size of the trout caught). Fred loved his walks in the woods with his dog "Autumn". He enjoyed his shooting buddies at the shooting range-especially those who still came when it rained or snowed. Fred was quite a character and proud of the fact that he had never been in a Wal-mart. Fred always had a hat on his head, a smile on his face and a cup of coffee in his hand. Fred was preceded in death by his beloved dog "Autumn". Fred is survived by his wife Barbara Jacobi of Clinton, MT, his daughters; Kim (Gig) Tollefsen of Bozeman and Holly DeMers of Bend, OR. Fred is also survived by his granddaughter; Kari Norwest of Bend, OR and his grandsons; Bryce and Eric DeMers of Bend, OR and Rory (Lane) Tollefsen of Seattle, WA; and his great-grandchildren Jordan and Aiyana Norwest. The family will hold a private service at a later date. Memorials can be made to Big Sky Practical Shooting Club, P.O. Box 2843, Missoula, MT 59806. Garden City Funeral Home is helping the family with the arrangements.

I was telling my kids about my school teachers. He was one of my favorite teachers, funny, caring. And of course his little alligator clicker...I had him for 6th grade at Roosevelt. My mom had him at woodman. What a wonderful man..God bless.

Mr. Jacobi was my 5th grade teacher, he was my favorite because of the Map Game every Friday. He was very supportive and I will always remember how he treated me, I came from a difficult back ground and he took an interest in me and I know he looked out for me.

I did look him up when my own daughter was a senior in high school, and stopped in to say hi in Clinton. it was important to me that he see that I did okay, and I never forgot his part in me striving to succeed. I wanted him to know he did make a difference in my life and education, that his kindness and compassion for a little girl who was pretty sad at times.

He will always live in my memory.
