Fred Henry Lewis, age 83, of Gulfport, went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick J. Lewis and his mother, Ida Nell Knight Lewis; his father and mother-in-law, Clinton and Salome Richbourg; and a brother-in-law, Jeff Richbourg.

He was born in Laurel, MS but spent most of his life in Gulfport where he graduated from Gulfport High School in 1960. He attended Mississippi College and the University of Southern Mississippi and he later served his country honorably in the United Sates Air Force for 4 years. Mr. Lewis worked as a Real Estate Appraiser for more than 50 years and he received the Realtor Emeritus Award from the National Association of Realtors after 47 years of service.
Fred was a member of the National Association of Realtors and was a mentor for the Coast Ladies Investment Club for more than 20 years. He was a dedicated member and Sunday School teacher, nursery worker, and youth volunteer at the First Baptist Church of Gulfport.
He enjoyed fishing, especially in Grayton Beach, Fl and spent hours working in his “gym” working in the yard. He was known to spoil his grandkids and always cheering on Florida State with his wife “Cookie” by his side. He also enjoyed coaching youth softball and basketball teams.
The family would like to thank the staff at Memorial Hospital for the outstanding care and support provided, along with the prayers of family and friends. Fred will be remembered for his love of sharing stories and jokes and his contagious playfulness has created a ripple of joy extending far beyond his friends and family throughout his entire community.
