To the family of Fred McConnell (he was my Great Uncle)....My name is Juanita Colvard, I am Annie Holland Queen's daughter and Edith Grace McConnell Frizzell's granddaughter. I met Fred many years ago on Scaly Mountain when I went with Granny Grace to visit her parents. Fred was Granny Grace's brother. All through my childhood and later years Granny Grace would tell us stories about her family and the hardships they endured to survive. The McConnell's were a proud and hard working family. I am so sorry for your loss....... Our family still misses Granny she was an inspiration to all of us.

My name is Angie Nichols, my husband nicky was the great grandson of Grace McConnell Frizzel - Fred's sister. Our daughter Grace is named after her. Although I did not know him, I remember Granny Grace telling stories about her family to me when we were first married. I'm sure he will be missed greatly just as we all miss granny Grace even after all these years. Thoughts and prayers to everyone so sorry to hear about his passing.
