Fred Price Jr passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025 after a wonderful life. He was born to Fred and Josephine (Burrows) Price on June 30, 1929 in Pendleton, Oregon. He graduated from Gonzaga Prepatory School in Spokane, Washington. Fred attended St. Martin's College and was drafted into the Army to serve in Korea. He was honorably discharged to work on the family farm when his father died.
Fred met Betty Jean Foss at St. Joseph's Academy in grade school. Mom shared that she was enamored by the boy that rang the lunch bell. They later married when Dad returned home to
farm. For 52 years, they lived on the family farm near Cayuse. Dad and Mom loved to travel around the country and later toured Spain. Their favorite place was the Oregon Coast.
Dad was dedicated to his community and served on various local boards, including Pendleton Grain Growers and Umatilla Electric Cooperative. He was also a school board member for St.
Joseph's Academy. He was an active member of St. Andrew's Mission.
Dad and Mom were married for 71 years, raising eight children, instilling in them the importance of faith, hard work, and compassion. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of
his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Preceding in death are his parents, wife Betty, siblings and son-in-law Scott Hudson. He is survived by his children; Rhonda Schultz (Ron), Fred Price (Jennie), Mary Jo Piatt (Ron), Nancy Hudson (Kevin), Julie Palm (Dan), Beth O'Hanlon (Tim), Jan Schwan (Marty), Jill Deutz (Joe), 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Fred's life will be celebrated at a service at St. Andrew's Mission on May 30th with a rosary at 9:30 and mass at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Pendleton chapter or St. Andrews Mission.
