Fred Anderson Rooks, 92, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on 11/20/2025. He was born on 12/21/1932 in Sano, Kentucky to Owen and Agnes Rooks. Fred married the love of his life, Mary Julia Ney Rooks on September 24th, 1955 and they enjoyed life together for over 50 years. Fred served in the army from 1953-1954. He then worked at Allison Transmission, a division of GM Motors for 38 years. He is survived by daughters Deborah Ann Rooks Vincent and Carol Lynn Winkel, 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, extended family members and cherished friends.

Fred was a proud Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandfather. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing poker and was a member of many poker clubs. He was an avid traveler and loved to visit new places in his Cadillac with family and friends. He was always there when anyone needed him and was extremely kind to anyone he met.

Friends and Family are invited to gather for Visitation on 12/01/2025 at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Home located at 1305 Broad Ripple Ave Indianapolis, IN 46220 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating Fred’s life will follow at 12:00 PM.
