In Loving Memory of Fred Hunter Starkey
1958 - 2024
Fred Hunter Starkey, born on October 17, 1958, in Dallas, Texas to Fred and Mary Ellen Starkey, passed away on June 2, 2024.
Fred lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with enthusiasm and a big heart. He spent 45 years as a dedicated pipe fitter, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his hard work and commitment.
A passionate Harley Davidson rider, Fred found immense joy in exploring the open roads with his wife, Sherry. His love for the outdoors was evident in his favorite activities-camping, fishing, swimming, and BBQing with family and friends. Known for his warm, welcoming nature, Fred never met a stranger and always greeted everyone with a smile. His happiness was infectious, and he brought joy to all who knew him.
He was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan; Fred's enthusiasm for his team was unmatched. However, his greatest pride and joy were his five children, who he loved dearly and held close to his heart. Fred's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will never be forgotten.
Fred will be deeply and lovingly missed by his wife, Sherry; children, Jessica Starkey, Kristie Zikowsky, Mandy Brueggemann, Fred Hunter Starkey Jr. and wife, Brittany, and Sheralynn Starkey; nine grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM.
