Fred was born November 3, 1945 in New York City, NY to Frederick and Cecilia (Dvorschak) Sunderman. He graduated from MMI Prep School in Freeland, Pennsylvania and attended University of Scranton on an ROTC scholarship and graduated with a BS. Upon his college graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. He served honorably for six years, including a promotion to captain and a tour in Viet Nam. Fred enjoyed many hobbies including auto racing, model railroading, and road trips with his beloved wife. Together they made trips across the southwestern U.S., his childhood homes of New York and northeast Pennsylvania, and numerous trips to visit their grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susanna Sunderman; sons Frederick and wife Kimberly of Spring, Texas, and Christopher and wife Elizabeth of Mansfield, Texas; grandchildren Ryan Sunderman, Courageous Sunderman, and Chastity Sunderman; brother Stephen Sunderman and wife Marion of Freeland, Pennsylvania and his extended family members including sisters and brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
