FRED IS DEAD

That’s what he always jokingly said he wanted.

Butch left this world to rejoin his baby boy Erick Taylor, with his ex-wife Rose Taylor’s permission of course.

Preceded in death by his father Fred R Taylor Sr, mother Virgina Smith (Eagon), son Erick Taylor, ex-wife Rose Taylor, aunt Mary (Nanny) Upton, sisters Peggy Bowen and Linda Hedrick, special niece Melissa Butcher, and his brother and best friend Ernie (Beverly) Taylor.

Butch is survived by his two boys Scott (Barbara) Taylor, Zack (Stacy Thorne) Taylor. His four beautiful granddaughters for whom he adored, The Taylor Girls - McKenzie, Mckayla, Olivia, and Eva. sister Carol (Marshall) Todd, brother Michael (Stephanie) Smith, nephew Jon (Natalie) Taylor & family, niece Jen Weber and family, nephew Chris Hedrick and the Butcher’s Keith, Brit, Jen, and Jordan. And many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In 1967 the United States Government gave Butch a free vacation to Southeast Asia, as he always stated. Butch was a U.S . Marine Corps Veteran like his father and brother. Butch served as Rifleman/Grenadier in 2 nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division with the majority of his in country time attached to the 9th MAB. Or as he used to state the two-four.

Family and friends lost one of its greatest story-tellers and nickname giver (whether you wanted it or not). Butch always had a funny story to tell usually from only his perspective of course, but almost always hilarious.

Butch was dearly loved and will be missed.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at the Hamilton Township Community Center 6400 Lockbourne Road Lockbourne , Ohio 43137 at 5 pm on Sunday November 16th 2025.
