Fred Walpool was born to the late Jack Walpool, Jr. and Willie Mae Watson Walpool of Shreveport, LA. He gave his life to Christ at an early age.
The family moved to San Francisco in May 1972. While there, Fred attended Pelton Jr., Sr. High School and loved participating in team sports. He ran Track, played Baseball and Football. It was there that he was introduced to the San Francisco 49'er by our big brother George and became an avid fan! Wearing the Red and Gold made him proud.
Fred graduated from Southwood High School, and shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the military and became a proud patriot of The United States Marine Corp. His Tour of Duty was in the Philippines. Fred also served in the Army National Guard.
Fred took a special interest in teaching himself how to fish. He would sit in his boat for hours enjoying nature. Home improvement was something he loved doing. He would work on a project until he felt it was perfect. But his biggest pleasure was spending time in his Man-Cave, which he built with his own two hands.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents: Jack Walpool, Jr., Willie Mae Watson Walpool. Brothers: Willie Johnson, George Watson, Johnny Walpool, John Walpool, Sister: Maxine Brooks-Reed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Deborah and four children:
Jamario (Diamond), Brittani (Ryan), Johnny (Candice), Jemone (Farrah).
Grandchildren:
Jamario Jr., Raelynn, Camrynn, Laurynn, Raynn, Ryan Jr., Johnny Jr., Journey, Elliott, and Brice.
Siblings: Jack Walpool, Grand Prairie, TX, Lucinda Walpool-Lawrence, Garland, TX, Melissa Walpool-Lafitte (Levon), Allen, TX, Lillie Walpool-Coley (Marshall) Shreveport, LA, Mary Walpool-Williams (Taylor), Richardson, TX, Georgia Walpool-Johnson, Plano, TX., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Education:
Southwood High School
United States Marine Corp – Rank E4 Corporal
Army National Guard
As a Marine, Fred worked as a Field Artillery Man. He earned A Letter of Appreciation, Good Conduct Metal, Rifle Expert Badge, and Pistol Marksman Badge. He is truly missed by all.
