Fred Ware Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 16, 2025.
Fred Albert Ware III

Born March 31, 1947 to Fred Jr. and Patricia Ware (deceased) and two years later had a sister, Priscilla Lynn Ware Scott (deceased). A lifelong Memphian who grew up at 3353 Buchanan. Maternal Grandparents Marvin and Francis Riley (aka MeMaw) (deceased). MeMaw gave me the love of fishing, gardening and the outdoors.

Growing up I played basketball, baseball and became an Eagle Scout. Went to Tredwell High School for 12 years. Met the love of my life my senior year Rose Regeana Glover and we were married August 19, 1966. We had two sons Fred A. IV (deceased) and Keith Edward. Fred A. IV married Susan Byrd and gave me my first 2 grandsons Johnathan and Brandon. Keith Edward married Ashley Hageman and gave 6 more grandchildren Mason, Mallory, Maddie, Dylan, Macallie and Maggie. I coached Fred and Keith in baseball and won 3 city championships and 1 state runner up in American Legion.

I completed my apprenticeship program and became a Bricklayer for 36 years. Some of the projects I completed included the Panda Exhibit at the Memphis Zoo, Germantown Performing Arts (Cannon Center) and my church Bartlett Woods Church of Christ (Phase 1 of our building program).

In 1974 I started fishing with the Backlashers Bass Club where I won many angler of the year and member of the year awards. I was baptized into Christ in August 1966 and became a member of Raleigh Church of Christ now known as Bartlett Woods Church of Christ. If the Lord would have allowed me, I would spend another 59 years with Regeana. This week, the family discovered an obituary written two years ago by their loved one.

Visitation at Forest Hill East Funeral Home will begin at 12:30 PM followed by the Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bartlett Woods Church of Christ Children's Ministry.
