SALEM-Fred Eugene Weingart, 82, of Salem, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Fred was born in Salem on November 21, 1942, the son of the late Daryl and Della (Weizenecker) Weingart.
He was a 1960 graduate of Goshen High School and retired from the CTM Labeling Systems in Salem. He also previously worked for the former Gottschall Tool & Die and served as a police officer for the Goshen Township Police Department. Fred also was a master carpenter and worked for the former Weingart Brothers Inc. where he actually built the house he and Judith grew their family in and that he lived in until his passing.
Survivors include three sons, Troy Weingart of Salem, Kevin Weingart of Salem, and Christopher (Sharri) Weingart of New Waterford; three grandsons, Kyle Weingart of Chippewa Lake, Noah Weingart of New Waterford, and Thomas Weingart of North Carolina; four granddaughters, Erica Weingart of Toronto, OH, Kaylin Weingart of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer Weingart of Salem, and Alyssa Davis of New Waterford; and two great-grandchildren Levi and Luke.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Judith (Dustman) Weingart, whom he married on August 11, 1963, and his siblings, Thomas Weingart, Duane Weingart, and Linda Rentsch.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem. A private burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, Ohio.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Patriot Hospice for their compassion and guidance. A special thank you also goes to Fred's son, Kevin, who selflessly put his life on hold to serve as Fred's live-in caretaker for many years. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done for him.
