Fred Willard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Affinity All Faiths Mortuary - Wichita on Dec. 24, 2025.
Fred Dewayne Willard, 73, passed away December 22, 2025 in Wichita. Fred was born June 6, 1952 in Wichita, to John and Gwendolyn (Good) Willard. Fred and Brenda were married for 53 years but Fred was more than a husband, father, and grandfather; he was the steady love and fierce protector who held his family together. A master craftsman with a tool for every job, Fred lived by a simple rule: if you couldn't buy it, you built it. Whether he was racing cars, fixing the "unfixable," or enjoying a Pepsi, Fred did things his own way. To his grandkids, he was a legend who could solve a Rubik's Cube with his eyes closed. He filled their lives with cards, jokes, and the occasional wet willy. Fred welcomed everyone like an old friend and had a heart as large as the projects he poured himself into. He leaves behind a legacy built with his own two hands and a family that was his world. Survivors include wife Brenda, children Marilyn Kay Lewis, Joseph Dewayne Willard and Cheryl Lynne (Quentin) Morris, brothers John Willard, James Willard and sister Teresa Pemberton, 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Kitty Zluticky, Carolyn Hayes, Roberta Willard, brothers John, Frankie, William and Ralph Willard. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday December 30, 2025, at Prairie Trail Cowboy Church, 8552 S Broadway, Haysville, Kansas 67060.
