It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Fred K. Willing Jr., who left us unexpectedly on August 24, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born on October 2, 1960, in Hawai i, Fred was the beloved son of May Leimomi and Frederick K. Willing Sr. He was a resilient father, cherished brother, and treasured friend to many.

Fred worked with pride and dedication as a refuse worker, serving his community with humility, strength, and a strong work ethic. He was respected for his reliability and known for always showing up with a smile.

A man of many talents, Fred was a gifted musician who could play several instruments, but it was the drums that truly captured his soul. He played from the heart, and his rhythms reflected the energy, joy, and love he carried within.

Fred was truly the life of the party - not just because he showed up, but because he kept it going well into the night (and sometimes into the next morning). If there was music, Fred danced - especially if someone played Mustang Sally. That was his cue, and once it came on, you knew the night was far from over.

But Fred didn't need a band - he was the band. He'd drum on tables with his bare hands, or grab whatever was nearby - plastic spoons, forks, cans, bottles - and turn them into percussion instruments. If it made noise, Fred could play it.

That same energy carried into everyday life. Fred had a way of making even the most ordinary moments feel fun, light, and worth celebrating. A true Steelers fanatic, we remember the way he lived with passion. Whether he was yelling at the top of his lungs during a game, running errands, fixing something around the house, cooking Ono food for the family, or just stopping by for a visit, he always brought good vibes, laughter, and warmth into our lives.

Fred found peace and happiness at the beach, and he deeply valued time spent with loved ones. He loved being with his family and cherished the bond he shared with his friends.
