Fred Winstead Obituary
Fred Bennette Winstead, 82, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was born December 19, 1939 in Nash County, NC. Fred was a school bus superintendent with Nash County Schools for many years; he was a boy scout and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Melton and Estelle Batchelor Winstead. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Kay Frances Lindsey and second wife Glenda Felton Winstead and a son, Stanley Winstead.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Greg, Jeff (Liz) and Chris Winstead (Kim); grandchildren, Melissa Lord, Zack Winstead, Peyton Winstead and Matthew Winstead; great grandchildren, Cody and Taylor Winstead; great-grandchild Mackenzie; Mason and Charlee Lord; two nephews, Jason and Wesley Tuttle.
A visitation will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Rock Creek Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM with Pastor Travis Crocker officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
