Fred Bradburn Obituary

Fred (Freddie) Allen Bradburn, 88 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, February 8th, 2026 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana with his family by his side.
Fred was born on February 1st, 1938 in Huntsville, Indiana. He was the son of Paul and Opal (Strait) Bradburn. Fred was a lifelong resident of Winchester, Indiana where he worked at Anchor Glass, Maul Brothers, Armstrong Mold, Hoosier Water Company, and Overmyer Mould. He was a hard-working man and Fred had a wit about him that would make you smile and laugh. Fred was a veteran of the Winchester National Guard.
Fred (Doc) as some referred to him, loved working on cars and was always looking for the next deal or trade of some kind. After retirement Fred lived and loved Celina, Ohio with the love of his life Dovie and their dogs on the Grand Lake for 13 years. Fred and Dovie were married in 1956 and almost made 59 years of marriage until Dovie passed away in 2015. After her passing, Fred moved back to Winchester to live with his sister, Jane Ashley for 5 years, we are thankful for this. If you looked for Fred, he was either out mowing the grass, taking a ride on his golf cart or in his 1948 Chevy Coup.
Fred loved his children and grandchildren. The family of Fred wanted to thank Pineknoll for his rehabilitation and Summers Pointe Lodge for the love they showed him during his stay with them.
Fred is survived by his three children, Dianna Bradburn, Vickie (Jim) Nunez, and Danny (Candy) Bradburn, one brother Harold (Marylin) Bradburn, two sisters Jane Ashley and Barbara Brandenburg, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife Dovie Bradburn, his parents, Paul and Opal Bradburn, one grandson Joseph Bradburn, one brother Gale Bradburn, and one sister, Emmalee Reitenour.
Friends and family may gather to share memories on Thursday, February 26th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Walker Funeral Home. A service celebrating Freddie will follow at 1:00 pm officiated by Rob Butler. Burial will follow at Saratoga Cemetery.
Walker Funeral Home in Winchester is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerswinchester.com.
