Freddie Brooks Obituary
Freddie was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1966, where he proudly played baseball. He worked at the cotton shed for many years and later served as a maintenance man with the Galveston Housing Authority, where he worked for 20 years before retiring in 2008. Freddie enjoyed shooting pool, playing dominoes and cards, and watching all types of sports-especially the Dallas Cowboys. He made it a priority to attend his grandsons' games and events whenever possible.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lee and Joerene Brooks Sr.; his sister, Doris; and his brothers, Robert, Leonard, Alfred, and Joerene Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sharon; his sons, Freddie Jr. and Samuel (Sabrina); his daughter, Samantha (Roylin); his grandsons, Abrien, Avery Jr., Marquis, Nicholas, Carmelo, Cameron, and Maverick; his brothers, Larry Sr., Melvin Sr. (Renia), and Ernest (Cynthia); his sisters, Ethel, Claudia, Patricia, Barbara (Kevin), and Jacqueline; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
