Freddie Lee Bush, Jr., 84, formerly of Pennsauken, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Aiken, South Carolina, Freddie was the son of the late Freddie Lee, Sr. and Annie Mae (née Corley) Bush. A proud veteran, he served honorably in the United States Army from 1961 to 1965. Freddie lived in Philadelphia from 1959 until 1975, when he settled in Pennsauken, New Jersey. He was employed as a driver for the Hertz Corporation until his retirement.
Freddie was known for his infectious sense of humor, his love of storytelling, and his warm, fun-loving spirit. He was deeply devoted to his family and created countless cherished memories with them. From vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland, to Parent Nights every Wednesday, and attending the "Funky Party" outdoor concerts with his wife Lenora and grandchildren, Freddie truly treasured time spent with those he loved most. A passionate sports enthusiast, he could always be found cheering on his favorite teams.
He was the beloved husband of the late Lenora (née Harris) Bush; loving father of Angela V. Bush, Crystal Lee Wilson (Thomas), step-father to Charles Heartsfield, and Leroy Heartsfield (Carmela); devoted Pop-Pop of Alim Bush, Nasser Bush, Amaya McGuire, Matthew Heartsfield, and Justin Heartsfield (Felicia); and proud great-grandfather of A'vionna Griffin, Aaniyah Bush, and Sadelle Heartsfield. He is also survived by his dear siblings Willie James Bush (Elizabeth) and Constance Everett (Fred). Freddie Lee is predeceased by his parents, Freddie Lee, Sr. and Annie Mae Bush and siblings, Gregory Bush Sr. and Cassandra Bush. Freddie will be remembered for his joy, resilience, and unwavering love for family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend Freddie's viewing on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, New Jersey, where the Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment and Military Honors at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ promptly at 2 PM.
