Freddie Nelson "Fred" Castle, age 78, of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away on September 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born November 8, 1946, in Grayson, Kentucky, Fred lived a full and devoted life marked by love, hard work, and strength.

Fred was the beloved husband of Penny for 58 years. He was a proud father to three children: the late Troy Nelson, Rose Lorraine (Mark) Gange, and Neil Ryan (Carrie) Castle. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Nikolas Monroe, Jason and Jessica Dean, Ryan and Rachel Castle, Olivia, Corey, Hailey and Ben; great-grandchildren, September Holt and Reighan Dean; siblings Janie Shaffer, Judy Jackson, and Wayne (Shelia) Castle.

After 32 years, Fred retired from General Motors. Fred was a man of the outdoors. He found peace and purpose in fishing, biking, trap shooting, running and hunting; all pastimes he often shared with those close to him. He had a soft spot for animals, especially Tory, Leah, and his beagles.

Fred was preceded in death by his siblings Betty Hampton and Willard Castle; and his three brothers in law.

Fred will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts and stories of those who knew and loved him.
