Freddie Morman

Freddie Morman, affectionately known as "John," was born on November 15, 1948, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Annie Bennett and the late Johnny M. Bennett. He received his education in Spartanburg County schools and later answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army, where he faithfully served during the Vietnam War.

Freddie was a hardworking and highly skilled brick mason who took great pride in his craft. Known for his strong work ethic, he was truly a workaholic who believed in providing for his family. Above all else, Freddie's greatest joy was his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and treasured deeply.

A man of faith, Freddie was a devoted member of The Temple Baptist Church, where he faithfully served on the Deacon Ministry. His commitment to the church and love for God were evident in his service to others. In his leisure time, he was a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, and his favorite color was blue, a reflection of his calm and steady spirit.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Dorothy Morman; and his siblings, Carolyn Morman, Elizabeth Bennett, Johnny Bennett, and Jerry Bennett.

Left to cherish his precious memory are his loving children, Cheryl (Minister Timothy) Norris of Roebuck, SC, Mary (Danny) Glenn of Spartanburg, SC, Charles Nesbitt of Tyler, TX, and Robert Nesbitt of Spartanburg, SC; his siblings, Modestine Earles, Wilma J. Bennett, and Brenda K. Foster, all of Spartanburg, SC; his grandchildren, Joshua McDowell, Tymesha McDowell, Jonathon Norris, Yolanda Babineaux, Kim Scott, Adrian Bush, and Chanel Glenn; eight great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
