Freddie Reutter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alexander Funeral Home, Inc. - Millersburg on May 12, 2022.
Freddie Reutter, 91 years young passed away on May 10, 2022 at Green Ridge Assisted Living Facility. Fred was born on February 8, 1931 in Valley City, Ohio to the late George and Erma Reutter. He had a brother, William. Freddie married Rosemary (Kovalcheik) on June 21, 1952 and five children were born. Sheryl (William) Beck of Moran, KS, Mike (Terri) Reutter of Lakeville, Christine (Dan) of Tustin Ranch, CA, Cyndy (Carl) Choate of Murfreesboro, TN, and Keith (Heather) of Lakeville, Oh.
Freddie played baseball and softball. He had a shot at Ashland College, but when he went for a visit the college told him his grades weren't good enough. He decided on the Army, and farming instead. Fred was an Army Veteran.
On March 1, 1970, his family moved to Big Prairie, Ohio where they bought two farms. He spent every Wednesday and Thursday hauling farm animals to Mt. Hope and Kidron animal auction. He enjoyed sitting on his swing at his farm and playing fetch with his trusty farm dog Monty.
Fred could tell you every detail about his 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren's lives. He spent his last days with the lovely gals of Green Ridge making funny snapchat stories. He maintained his ornery charm and kept the residents and staff on their toes.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 16th, at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, 2233 Abbeyville Rd., Valley City, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.
The family would like to thank Green Ridge Staff, LifeCare Hospice, and the very special residents!
The family welcomes donations to Green Ridge Assisted Living Facility or LifeCare Hospice. Go out and buy a gallon of milk, support your local dairy farmers.
