Freddie Simmons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wooster Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Pauls Valley on Feb. 9, 2026.
Freddie Delnore Simmons, 92, of Elmore City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on February 7, 2026.

Born on December 2, 1933, in Elmore City to Robert Lee Simmons and Alice Simmons, Freddie was a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown. He graduated from high school in the early 1950s and went on to build a life deeply rooted in family, hard work, and the land he loved.

Freddie married the love of his life, Mary Simmons, and together they shared 59 devoted years of marriage until her passing in 2019. He was a proud father to two daughters, Angelia and Melanie, whom he taught the values of hard work, responsibility, and compassion.

For 35 years, Freddie worked as a heavy equipment operator for Kerr-McGee, where his dedication and work ethic were evident to all who knew him. After retirement, he found great joy tending to his 100+ acre farm - a place that brought him peace, purpose, and pride.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Freddie had a deep love for nature and animals. He was especially fond of his cattle and dogs, and it was often said that all cats seemed to love him too. Whether watching a baseball game, reading a good Western novel, or simply enjoying the view from his porch swing, Freddie found happiness in life's simple pleasures.

Freddie was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Simmons; Parents, Robert Lee and Alice Simmons; Brother, Bobby Ray Simmons; and Sisters, Ima Jean Brooks, Geneva Poole, and Sue Cochran.

He is survived by his daughters, Angelia Simmons of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Melanie Simmons of Elmore City, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other friends and family.

Cremation services were under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. If you would like to send your condolences to the family you may do so at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com
