Freddy Cooper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clayton Funeral Home and Crematory - Pearland on Dec. 22, 2025.
Freddy Allen Cooper passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished brother and uncle.

Fred is survived by the love of his life, Henrietta Cooper, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Their love story began when Henrietta asked Fred to dance, and while he claimed not to have known how to dance, he said he was not going to say no! From that moment on, they spent their lives dancing together-through joy, challenges, laughter, and love.

His legacy continues through his children: Jana Graham and husband Jeff; Jenifer Pulver; Jody Cooper; Brian Cooper and wife Katy; great niece Kendra Swain and husband Justin.

Fred was a proud and loving Pawpaw. He would burst with pride at their accomplishments. He leaves behind his grandkids: Jared Cooper, Aidan Graham, Claire Futch and husband Caleb, Colin Graham, Dylan Carpenter, Brady Graham, and Elle Pulver, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Fred hails from a large and loving family. He was one of 11 siblings with two that remain: Jerry Cooper, wife Pam and Lucy Jane Taylor, husband Butch. Also, many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elvin Dalton Cooper, Sr. And Maudie Josephine Thomas Cooper. Siblings include Elvin Cooper, Jr. and wife Nelda, Thomas Cooper and wife Cathy, Johnny Cooper, James Cooper, Margie Fulks and husband Morris, Dorothy Cooper, Laura Fowler, and Larry Cooper. He loved his family deeply and remembered them often. Especially the contentious games of "42" that occurred anytime they were together.

Fred had a special love for the outdoors, taking camping trips to the river every year where he enjoyed his hammock. He also found great joy fishing with family or on his own. Fred enjoyed traveling with family, preferring road trips across the country to traveling by plane. There were many memories made on these trips that we all count as core memories. He was also one with a quick wit which we all loved about him. Fred proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps in Vietnam. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching them grow, sharing stories, and simply being present. His devotion to the Cooper family was the foundation of his life.

Fred will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep love for family, and the beautiful legacy he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Until we see him again… and as he would often say "Easy does it."
