Freddy Allen Lunsford, a beloved husband and devoted father, will be remembered fondly following his passing on August 13, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on September 27, 1966, in Fredericktown, Missouri, Freddy was the son of the late Freddy Gene Lunsford and Carolyn Sue (Lindsey) Copeland and his stepfather, Bill Copeland.
Freddy never met a stranger, and he left a lasting impression with everyone he met. He was a proud member and journeyman electrician in the IBEW Local 1. His commitment to his craft was matched only by his zest for life, as he often reminded those around him, “I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time.” This philosophy guided him as he created cherished memories on the water, sharing joy and laughter with family and friends while boating. Freddy was a master storyteller, telling tales that captivated all who would listen. However, the one thing that Freddy loved most was the time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lora (Burt) Lunsford; stepfather, Bill Copeland and brother in-law, Denny Aubuchon.
Freddy is survived by his wife Peggy Lee (Richardson) Lunsford; children, Brandon Asher and wife Christy, Cameron Lunsford, Maci Lunsford, Billy Lee and wife Betty, Todd Lee and wife Harley; grandchildren, Emma and Brailey Asher, Benjamin, Archie and Beverly Lee; siblings, Karen Harris (Steve), Teresa Agnew (Randy), Danny G. Lunsford, William Copeland (Elena) and Clay Francis; many nieces, nephews other family members and friends also survive.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in honor of Freddy’s memory to the Arthritis Foundation.
