Freddy Tosado, a loving and resilient soul, born on March 29, 1962, in Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on October 3, 2023. Known for his generous spirit and infectious humor, Freddy was a beacon of light to those who knew him. His life was characterized by his profound love for animals and his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. Freddy was a retired Animal Control Officer for the City of Springfield, a role that allowed him to combine his professional life with his deep passion for animals, specifically dogs.
Freddy was a man who lived his life with an open heart, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was known for his generosity, often going out of his way to help those in need. He was a lover of laughter, always ready with a joke or a funny story to brighten someone's day. His resilience was an inspiration to those around him, and his strength and determination were admired by all who knew him.
Freddy is survived by his children, Freddie, Noemi, and David Tosado; his siblings, Ramona (Gilberto) Rivera, Jose (Irma) Tosado, Teresa Hernandez, Eileen Tosado, John (Yvonne) Tosado, Migdalia (Louie) Morales, Edward (Lucy) Tosado, and Shirley (Daisy) Pereira-Tosado. He also leaves behind his step-children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews as well as friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Josefina Tosado, and his beloved fiancee, Maria"Milagros" Acevedo.
All services are private. We encourage those who knew and loved Freddy to leave their memories and upload photos to the memorial page, contributing to a living tribute to a man who brought so much joy and warmth to our lives. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation in his name to Thomas J O'Conner Animal Control and Adoption Center.
