Frederic Martin "Marty" Swinehart

Frederic Martin "Marty" Swinehart, 66, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025. He was born May 3, 1959, in Zanesville. Marty was a 1977 graduate of West Muskingum High School, where he enjoyed being in the band and choir and also graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in Agronomy. He was the Chef/Owner of Brickhill Foods in Gratiot. Marty was a Chef for Casa Lupita and traveled all through the country opening their new restaurants in places like Chicago, Boston and Florida.
He enjoyed spending time restoring his Ford tractor and Model A car, loved cooking and his dogs, Bandit and Rommel.
He is survived by his mother Patty (Frank McCafferty) Blackstone Fry; two sisters: Pam Booth and Sue (Daryl) Sowards; five nieces and nephews: Jody (Ryan) Carpenter, Jayme (Shane) Starkey, Ted (Kylie) Porter, Shayne (Dusty) Byers and Kasie Sowards; great nieces and nephews: J.P. Lichtner, Alex Lichtner, Drew Carpenter, Tyler Carpenter, Adyson Starkey, Jaycob Starkey, Payge Wisecarver, Payton Byers and Layne Clapper; and great great nieces and nephews: Walker Landaker, Elouise Lichtner, Parker Lichtner, Cora Lichtner and Max Bryant.
He is preceded in death by his father Frederic Lee Swinehart; and brothers in law: John Porter and Jim Booth.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2PM Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Gratiot United Methodist Church, 345 South Street, Gratiot, OH. A celebration of Life will begin at 2PM. Burial to follow in Poplar Fork Cemetery.
